DIRECTOR, Represents Division II

 

Elected by the voters of Walnut, portions of Covina, West Covina, Charter Oak and San Dimas.

 

In Late 2023 Mr. David De Jesus retired as the President and CEO of Covina Irrigating Company (a California Corporation) after a successful 44 year career. He has served as a director at Three Valleys Municipal Water District since 1997.

 

Mr. De Jesus holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Azusa Pacific University. He has also earned degrees in Water Treatment Technology and Criminal Justice.  He holds the highest Water Treatment and Water Distribution Certification levels issued by the State Water Resources Control Board.

 

David provided instruction for several years to hundreds of students as an Adjunct Professor at Citrus College specializing in water distribution and system design.

 

Prior to his retirement, Mr. De Jesus served on numerous water boards in varying capacities including the Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster, the San Gabriel River Water Committee, and the San Gabriel Valley Water Association. He currently serves as the alternate to the Chino Basin Watermaster, and most notably, as a director on the board of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California representing the interests of Three Valleys since March 2002.  In this role, he has served as a Vice Chairman of the Board three times. He is on several MWD Committees including the Executive Committee of the Board and most notably on the Colorado River Ad-Hoc Committee.  During 2016, Mr. De Jesus was appointed by Governor Brown to serve on the Colorado River Board as the alternate representing the water supply needs of over 19 million Southern Californians.
