Elected in 2022 by the voters of Claremont and La Verne.
Dr. Jeff Hanlon is a professor of Political Science at Whittier College, a Water Policy researcher, and a social scientist. He teaches a variety of courses in American politics, state and local government, public administration, environmental policy and water law, politics and policy. Director Hanlon has an abiding curiosity about how diverse interests can come together to govern water resources equitably and sustainably. To that end, he has published six peer-reviewed articles on water policy and intergovernmental collaboration. Director Hanlon has a passion for teaching, learning, and public service. He has earned a PhD in Public Administration and Policy from the University of Arizona, a Master’s in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Bachelor’s of Conservation Biology from the University of Wisconsin.
Director Hanlon lives in Claremont with his wife and two daughters.
