DIRECTOR - Represents Division VII - elected to the Three Valleys MWD Board by voters of unincorporated communities of Rowland Heights and Hacienda Heights and portions of West Covina (including South San Jose Hills), City of Industry, Walnut, and La Puente during the November 3, 2020 general election.
Mike is currently a Senior Resource Specialist at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, where he has been since 1998. With more than 20 years of water industry experience, Mike oversees technical work on various aspects of water resource planning with particular expertise on regional water demands and water use modeling. More notably, Mike is a part of a team that develops Metropolitan's Integrated Water Resource Plan to provide water supply reliability for more than 19 million people in Southern California. Prior to joining the Metropolitan Water District, he worked on production planning and on labor law compliance in the Los Angeles garment industry, work that instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Having grown up in Los Angeles County and as a resident of West Covina for the last 20 years, Mike cares deeply for the vitality of his community and understands that planning ahead for safe and affordable water is essential to the California dream that we share.
Mike holds a B.A. degree in Economics from University of California, Santa Cruz, a Water Leadership and Management Certificate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and an Environmental Leadership Certificate from California State University San Marcos. Mike enjoys cooking, hiking, and camping with his wife and two children.
